Although your Paris trip might be dependent on some factors like mixing it with business or just plain recreation, there is always something going on in the city. Paris festivals abound in each season, may it be winter, spring, summer or fall.

Paris in Spring

If you want to see Paris during the most favorite season of the year, which is spring, then you should have much tolerance for big crowds and you must brace yourself because everything is quite expensive. Further, if you have allergies, you might have problems visiting Paris in springtime because this is the time when trees and flowers bloom.

The benefit of visiting Paris in spring, however, is that you will see Paris at its most colorful. You can also laze outdoors in parks and cafes.

Festivals in Paris during Spring

Aside from the usual visit to the tourist spots in Paris, you can also enjoy Paris festivals.

1. Paris Film Festival happens during the months of March and April wherein they screen locally produced films as well as promising works of European directors. This is quite exciting because you might also be lucky to see your favorite European actors and actresses in this venue.

2. The Carrousel de Louvre hosts the Paris Fashion Week. This is a worldwide tour of fashion designers and models, which present their latest creations. This usually happens early March.

Paris in the Summer

Instead of spring, you might want to visit in summer where the prime festivals and great open-air events happen. Another benefit is that the locals are leaving Paris, that’s why you can have the city to yourself together with other visitors.

Paris Festivals in the Summer

It can be scorching hot in summer, but you would not want to miss La Fête de la Musique. This festival is the original idea of France until it became popular in other countries. It is a single night of Paris music on June 21, on the eve of the summer solstice. Hundreds of amateur talents come to the streets to perform for the public and is largely free.

Le Tour de France, which happens on late July to early August, is the most famous sporting event in Paris and is seen by many tourists all over the world. Here you can see many cyclists hurling down the streets of Champs-Elysees.

There are many festivals happening all year round. All you have to do is do a little research on what these festivals might just be happening when you visit Paris.
